The world is full of substances used to give a person a sense of euphoria. These substances include drugs such as marijuana, amphetamines, cocaine, and also alcohol. All these substances play with the cells in your mind and alter your mentality. You may get a sense of ease or happiness but you lose the ability to think and act for yourself. Your actions and decisions are governed by the feelings created by the substance that you have consumed. This is the state in which we give ourselves over to the powers of evil. When a person’s mind is clouded by drugs it is impossible for them to use good judgment. Satan can use that lack of judgment to his advantage and set that person into situations they would have never gotten into had their mind been clear of the influence of drugs. “The brain is no longer able to distinguish correctly. The enemy has control.” As children of God we ought to keep our minds clear so that if a situation arose we would be able to respond appropriately. Our decisions and actions would be of our own accord and not under the influence of a drug. Just like the Above the Influence puppet commercial says. “If you’re not in control, then who is?”
